Los Alcázares - three held in provisional detention

Three of the original six arrested earlier this week in connection with the misappropriation of public funds and money-laundering in 'Operation Ninette' in Los Alcázares have been ordered to be held in provisional detention without bail in a hearing on Saturday before Eva María Algar, a judge at the Court of First Instance in San Javier. Those being held in detention are the brother of the municipal architect Ignacio Ayuso, businessman Valero Garcerán and his son Francisco Javier Garcerán.

The judge is expected to continue deliberations on the cases of the other arrestees tomorrow Sunday. From a British perspective this sounds highly unusual, but perhaps it is quite normal in Spain for courts to sit on a Sunday, for all I know; possibly it's a case of 'better the day, better the deed'!
