Maybe I won't need to go to Switzerland after all!

Perhaps in extremis I'll just have to pop down to Andalusia. The Andalusian regional government is proposing to legislate to allow terminally-ill people to choose to have their treatment withdrawn and to force medical staff in attendance to comply with their wishes. The proposed legislation is similar to that already in force in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands although it stops way short of what is permitted in the Confédération suisse; the Swiss attitude to 'assisted suicide' is discussed here (it's in French, I'm afraid).
