The Gardening Group makes further progress last Sunday (10th May)

(UPDATE: Barbara has sent me a very nice group photograph of most of those who were there last Sunday, so I have included it in the photographs below as the first image.)

The Neigbourhood Concern Gardening Group had its third Sunday evening of activity on 10th May. Although there were fewer of us present this week than on previous Sundays (11, instead of 17 and 19) we still managed to get quite a lot of both ground-clearing and planting work done. Once more, thanks to all who came and we look forward to seeing them and any others who can help here next week. All kinds of help is welcome, for example either with ground-clearing and digging or planting - or perhaps to help run the 'donations table', for those who can't bend very easily.

The group continues to work on two main sections near the top of the open ground between Manzanas 31 and 33, opposite Manzana 28, although it is possible that next week, numbers permitting, some of the group may switch their efforts to one of the other areas of open ground.

The remaining weeds and stones/rubbish between the two existing planting areas was cleared last Sunday with the ground between the two areas made ready for planting - indeed planting has already begun here to 'close the gap', so that there will very soon be one continous strip of planting along the top edge of the open ground opposite Manzana 28. As mentioned above, though, more help is always welcome, so anyone is very welcome to come along and join us. Light refeshments are available, against small donations, after the physical work is over for the evening - and it's good fun and enjoyable to meet people.

"All volunteers most welcome!"
- see you next Sunday at 7pm? (* - please see at end)

(* - start-time is being delayed a further 30 minutes from next Sunday to 7pm, as with every week that passes it remains warmer later in the the evening, an important consideration when doing physical work)
